Thanksgiving is one of those days when it’s really handy to have a few simple activities ready for the kids. There can be quite a lot of waiting around while food is cooking and the grown-ups are busy, so I’ve put together this free printable Thanksgiving activity pack with plenty to keep little hands occupied.
There’s a real mixture in here too, so hopefully there’s something for everyone. Kids can color, search, count, make their own Thanksgiving crown, create finger puppets, color some bookmarks, play I Spy, and even build their own turkey. You can print the whole pack and let them work their way through it, or just pick out the pages you think they’ll enjoy most. It would be lovely for Thanksgiving morning, a classroom activity, or even something to put at the kids’ table while everyone waits for dinner.

What’s Included in the Thanksgiving Activity Pack
There’s a little bit of everything in this Thanksgiving activity pack, which is exactly what I wanted. Some of the pages are quick activities kids can get stuck into straight away, while others involve a little more coloring, cutting, and making. You’ll find puzzles, coloring activities, an I Spy game, a Thanksgiving crown, finger puppets, bookmarks, and a Build a Turkey craft, so there are plenty of ways to keep everyone entertained.

Thanksgiving Activity Page
This Thanksgiving activity page has a fun word search filled with Thanksgiving and fall-themed words for kids to find, including pumpkin, turkey, harvest, family, and thankful. There are also a couple of little extra activities at the bottom, with a “How many do you see?” counting challenge and a game of tic-tac-toe. It’s a nice easy page to print out when you need something that will keep the kids busy for a little while.
Thanksgiving Color by Number
This Thanksgiving color by number is a nice quiet activity for kids who love coloring. They just need to match each number to the right color to gradually bring the Thanksgiving picture to life. It’s simple enough to get on with without too much help, and it’s a lovely one to have ready for a bit of calm time while you’re busy getting everything else sorted for Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Paper Crown
This Thanksgiving paper crown is a really cute little craft that kids can actually wear when they’ve finished making it. They can color in all the fall leaves and acorns however they like, then cut out the crown and attach the strips to make it fit. I think this would be especially fun to make on Thanksgiving morning, and you could even have all the kids wearing their finished crowns around the Thanksgiving table later!
Thanksgiving Coloring Page
This Thanksgiving coloring page is perfect for kids who just want to grab their crayons and get coloring. There’s a fun Thanksgiving scene with pumpkins, pie, a turkey, and plenty of little details to color in however they like. It’s such an easy activity to have ready for a quiet moment, and there are no rules with this one, they can just get creative and have fun with it.
Thanksgiving I Spy
This Thanksgiving I Spy is a fun one for kids who love a little challenge. They’ll need to search through all the Thanksgiving pictures and count how many of each one they can find, from turkeys and pumpkins to pie, corn, acorns, and fall leaves. It’s one of those activities that can keep them busy for quite a while, especially when they’re determined to find every last one!
Thanksgiving Finger Puppets
These Thanksgiving finger puppets are such a fun little craft because kids get something to play with once they’ve finished making them. They can color in the turkey, owl, and acorn designs, carefully cut them out, then pop their fingers through the holes to make the puppet’s little feet. I can imagine these keeping kids entertained long after the coloring and cutting is finished, especially if they start making up their own Thanksgiving stories with them!
Thanksgiving Bookmarks
This is such a lovely little activity for kids who enjoy coloring, and there are four different designs to choose from. They can color in all the Thanksgiving pictures and wording, then carefully cut out their finished bookmark and use it in their favorite book. You could even print the whole set and let them make a few to give to friends, classmates, or family members as a cute little Thanksgiving treat.
Build a Turkey Craft
I think this Build a Turkey craft is one of the cutest activities in the pack! Kids can color all the different pieces first, then cut everything out and put their turkey together. They can choose their own colors for the feathers, add the little pilgrim hat, and see how their finished turkey turns out. No two need to look exactly the same, which is half the fun, and it’s a lovely little Thanksgiving craft to display when they’re finished.

Free Printable Thanksgiving Activity Pack for Kids
What You’ll Need
You don’t need anything fancy for these Thanksgiving activities, and you probably have most of what you need at home already.
- Printed Thanksgiving activity pack
- White printer paper or cardstock
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- A pencil for the word search, counting activities, and I Spy
- A printer
I’d definitely use cardstock for the paper crown, finger puppets, and bookmarks if you have some, just to make them a little sturdier.
How to Use Your Thanksgiving Activity Pack
There’s really no right or wrong way to use this pack. Print off all the pages and let the kids choose what they fancy doing, or just pick a couple of activities to have ready when you need them. I like the idea of putting a little pile on the kids’ table with some crayons and pencils so they can help themselves throughout the day.
- Print the whole pack or choose just the pages you want to use.
- Set out crayons, markers, colored pencils, and pencils so everything is ready to go.
- Use the word search, I Spy, color-by-number, and coloring page for easy activities that need very little setup.
- Have scissors and glue ready for the paper crown, finger puppets, bookmarks, and Build a Turkey craft.
- Print the craft pages on cardstock if you’d like the finished pieces to be a little sturdier.
- Let the kids make the activities their own. There’s no need for everything to be perfectly colored or put together!
Tips for Printing Your Thanksgiving Activities
These are really easy to print at home, but a few little things can help you get the best results.
- Use regular printer paper for the activity sheets. There’s no need to use anything special for the word search, I Spy, coloring, or color-by-number pages.
- Try cardstock for the crafts. The crown, finger puppets, and bookmarks will hold up better on slightly thicker paper.
- Check your printer settings before printing. Choose a high-quality setting if you have the option so all the little details come out nice and clear.
- Print only what you need. You don’t have to print the entire pack every time. Just select the individual pages you want.
- Have plenty of ink. Some of the activity pages include color around the outside, so it’s worth checking before you start printing.
- Let the ink dry before coloring or cutting. This is especially helpful if your printer tends to leave freshly printed pages a little smudgy.
- Print extras if you have a few kids joining in. It saves any arguments over who gets to do which page first!
Ways to Use These Thanksgiving Printables
There are so many ways you can use this pack, and it doesn’t have to be just something you pull out on Thanksgiving Day. Print a few pages whenever you need an easy fall activity, or save the whole pack for the holiday itself.
- Set up a Thanksgiving kids’ table with the printables, crayons, and pencils to keep little ones entertained during dinner.
- Use them on Thanksgiving morning while you’re busy cooking and getting everything ready.
- Take them on a Thanksgiving road trip for an easy activity to do while traveling or when you arrive.
- Use them in the classroom for a fun Thanksgiving activity before the holiday break.
- Add them to your homeschool plans for a little seasonal fun during November.
- Have a quiet afternoon at home with the coloring pages, I Spy, and color-by-number activities.
- Turn the craft pages into a little Thanksgiving craft session with the crown, finger puppets, and Build a Turkey.
- Print a few for a Thanksgiving party or family gathering so there’s something ready for the kids to do while the grown-ups are chatting.
